Telegram, which has experienced significant growth in recent years and is seen as the biggest competitor to WhatsApp, continues to receive new features. Most recently, it has been announced that the app will be getting the popular feature from Instagram, Stories.
Telegram is getting the Stories feature!
Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, announced today that the instant messaging app will be introducing the Stories feature. Durov mentioned that this feature has been requested by users for years, with more than half of the received requests being related to it.
According to the information shared by the CEO, Telegram users will be able to determine who can see their shared Stories. The options will include everyone, people in your contact list, or a select few individuals that you specify.
Stories will be displayed at the top of the chat list, arranged side by side just like on Instagram. Additionally, users will be able to add a caption and a link to their shared Stories. It will also be possible to tag other individuals.
Similar to the BeReal app, users will be able to capture videos using both the front and rear cameras of their phones. According to the information provided, users will also have the option to choose when the story will disappear. The options will include 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours.
You will be able to display your shared Stories on your profile, just like on Instagram. Furthermore, it should be noted that Stories can be shared in channels as well. Durov stated that Telegram’s profiles would be more informative and colorful with this feature, and it had undergone final testing. He also mentioned that the feature would be available to everyone in early July.
